You can make all the plans in the world, but it simply comes down to this…
“Nothing changes if NOTHING changes.”
Profound, right? I know, but hear me out. This is that time of year when you hear “New year, new me” on repeat and I can’t freaking stand it! Why must someone become someone new because it’s the new year? What was wrong with the old you?
I don’t know about you, but I LOVE me! I’m constantly trying to improve and build upon the existing woman you see before you (well.. Not see see right at this moment but you know what I’m saying).
I was talking to a close friend today venting about whatever in that moment and suddenly it hit me; next year it’s about ME! The year of self! 😃
I know you’re like… ok girl but what does that mean. Let me break it down for you:
- Self love
- Self worth
- Self care
- Self development
- Selfish (eh… kinda but not in the way you might be thinking)
Basically, I’m working on me. Being better than I was this year… hell being better than I was yesterday. Pushing my body mentally and physically to see what I really do. Seeing how I can be better, go harder, go faster, get stronger.
Man, when I say this is going to be dope… it’s gonna be DOOOOPE!
Will it be easy? Absolutely not. I will say “no” to more people, but I will be saying “yes” to myself. I may lose friendships this year, but I may also gain them too. And that’s okay.
I will be comfortable being uncomfortable… because the magic happens when you’re outside of your comfort zone.
I will surround myself with positive people who encourage me and force me to level up. Positive vibes only around here… anything other than that gotta go! I will protect my energy at all times.
Prayer and meditation will be a must every single day. Starting my day in conversation with God, not being anxious about anything and in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, letting my requests be known to God (Philippians 4:6).
This will be quite the process… and I’m going to embrace every moment of it.
What will be your mantra and/or power word for 2018? What will you be working towards? #dreambig #workhard

I love this!! I know you will accomplish everything you set out to do in 2018. Good luck girl!. My mantra this year is #MakeEverydayCount I plan on setting small goals each day and crushing each one. It’ll be a way for me to steer away from procrastinating and focusing on the moment. Long-term goals tend to scare me away because it seems so far and unattainable, which is what the procrastination stems from. As a result, I hardly ever keep promises I make to myself. Making small daily goals will allow me to focus in on the small details that lead up to the big dreams I have. I’m excited for 2018! Loving you blog btw! Keep up the great work 🙂
